Why a decoy works
Most break-ins are decided from the sidewalk.
A burglar picks the easy house, not the brave one. Before anyone touches a door they read the front of a home for risk, and a camera dome is the clearest signal that this one keeps a record.
A decoy gives them that signal for a few dollars. They do not knock to check whether it is wired. They move on to the house that does not have one.
The best camera is the one they decide not to test.
One at the door, one out back.
Most homes are entered from the front door or a back slider. A dome at each turns the obvious ways in into the obvious ways to be seen.
Angle it down over the approach so it reads as watching the path, not the sky.
Two screws, or peel and stick.
Pick the spot
High on a wall or eave, angled down over the way in.
Add the batteries
Two AA cells power the blinking LED for about a year.
Mount it
Use the two screws outdoors, or the tape indoors.
Walk the path
Stand where a visitor would and check the dome is in plain view.
Seen at the door, heard at the window.
A decoy turns people away at the approach. The TremShield Alarm covers the moment someone tests a window anyway, sounding at 125dB the second the glass moves.
