What a deadbolt misses
A deadbolt holds the lock. Nothing holds the door.
A solid kick does not pick your lock, it splits the frame around it. The deadbolt stays locked while the door swings open, because nothing was bracing the door itself against the force.
A security bar adds that brace. Wedged from the handle down to the floor, it turns a push into a dead stop and spreads the force into the ground instead of the frame. That is the gap a deadbolt leaves, and the one this closes.
Lock the door, then brace it. One holds the bolt, the other holds the door.

Set the padded top under the door handle and the foot against the floor. A shove drives straight down into the ground rather than into the frame and strike plate, which is where a kicked door normally fails.

Measure the gap

Lock the length

Test the door
Push the door to confirm the bar holds it solid.
